What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds. It is made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin.

Where can Restylane® be used?
Restylane® can be used for smoothing out folds and wrinkles, lip enhancements and shaping facial contours. The most common areas are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), the nasolabial folds (near the root of the nose and the angle of the mouth) and the lips, as well as other sites.

Is Restylane® Safe?
Yes, Restylane is safe. It has been FDA approved as an injection for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It has been used safely by physicians since 1996 worldwide. Because Restylane is non-animal-based and fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required. Virtually any risk of animal based disease transmission is eliminated.

What is the procedure?
The Restylane® gel is injected into the dermis (skin) in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. One treatment session takes about 30 minutes. Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultra fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient, and results are practically instantaneous.

How long does Restylane® last?
Studies have shown that the average treatment results last six months, or even longer. The unique properties of Restylane® help maintain the cosmetic effect until the injected material is nearly gone.

How often should I have Restylane® treatments done?
Restylane® lasts twice as long as collagen, so treatments are typically scheduled twice a year. Evidence shows that having a touch-up treatment before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.

How is Restylane® different from Botox®?
Restylane® is a natural cosmetic filler. In contrast, Botox® is a drug that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes the underlying muscle.
